ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL REQUIRED

Architectural Control Policy

Architectural Control Required Included in the Association Covenants and Restrictions is a statement about Architectural Control. It is a very important component in the function of a homeowners’ association. Its purpose and main function is to maintain the amenities and property values of the association. Keeping this in mind, homeowners are requested to follow these simple steps when making changes in their home. (This would include additions, alterations, decks, or other work that requires a building permit from the City of Strongsville).

  • The Board of Trustees acts as the Architectural Control Committee (ACC).
  • Detailed project plans (drawings, site location, materials, color samples) must be submitted using the formal Architectural Control Form.
  • Approval must be granted in writing before any site preparation or construction begins.
  • Improvements are reviewed for quality, design harmony, and impact on topography/grade.
Application Steps & Standards

Submission Process

The Architectural Control Committee (ACC) is established to maintain a high standard of external appearance within Ashley Oaks. All homeowners must obtain written approval from the ACC before beginning any external additions or alterations to their property. This policy ensures that all improvements remain consistent with the overall aesthetic of the neighborhood, preserving property values and community harmony. Failure to secure approval may result in a requirement to restore the property to its original condition at the owner's expense. The review process considers design, materials, harmony with existing structures, and location in relation to topography and finished grade. Please allow sufficient time for the committee to review your detailed plans.
